Naga Forum condemn firing at Makhan Kanglatombi area

Makhan Kanglatongbi Naga Forum, representing over 7 tribes of the Naga community, has expressed strong condemnation of the indiscriminate firing of sophisticated weapons in Makhan Kanglatongbi Area by Kuki Militants on September 29.
A statement by the Naga Forum said that the firing had a devastating impact on the local residents particularly innocent women and children. This continuous violence has left them emotionally traumatized, especially during the evenings when it occurs.
The stray bullets damaged the roofs of homes in Makhan Naga Village and hit a peaceful school building in the lower Makhan area, affecting innocent school children.
“Even educational institutions have not been spared from this violence, further the Makhan Kanglatongbi Area once a peaceful neighborhood and educational hub, has been transformed into a war zone, disrupting educational and livelihood activities”, the statement said.
