Imphal, Sept 7:
A team of Narcotic and Affairs of Border (NAB) arrested a police personnel serving as driver along with around 10 kg of opium from Torbung Keithel near Torbung Bridge in Churachandpur district at around 2 pm yesterday.
The police personnel has been identified as David Onkholam Haokip . He is serving as a constable driver and presently posted at Phougakchoa Ikhai Police Station of the Bishnupur district police .
Following the arrest along with 9.950 Kg of opium the police constable driver has been put under suspension by an order of the Bishnupur district Superintendent of Police
Yesterday i.e. 6/9/2020 at around 2:00 pm a team of NAB-PS arrested one accused person from Torbung Bazar, near Torbung Bridge namely
The accused -David Onkholam Haokip (37) is the son of Chunghao Haokip of Teijang Villace, Churachandpur District. The NAB team seized 8.040 kgs of Opium and 1.900 kgs of suspected Opium from his possession, a source said. A case has been registered at NAB-PS for further necessary legal action.
