N. Biren opines for a Land Route Trade Center at Mandalay

Imphal, Nov 10: Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh today drew the attention of the Myanmar Government to provide land for construction Trade Center and Guest House at Mandalay .
Speaking on the inaugural function of the two day International Conference on India and Myanmar relation on the theme Way Forward at Pan Pacific Hotel in Yangoon, Manipur Chief Minister said that in order to improve the trade and commerce between the two countries opening of a trade center is the need of the hour under India’s Act East Policy.
Biren, who attended as the chief guest said the Manipur is the gateway to South East Asia. He added that even as the place is rich with minerals, it can’t be extracted as of now.             
The Chief Minister further said that the first interaction between media fraternity from Myanmar and India will be held at Manipur during Sangai festival on November 27 and 28.
N. Biren Singh also highlighted the status of the players of the state saying that it won’t be wrong to call the Indian Football team as Manipur team.
