Mukesh Singh appointed Manipur DGP; State govt. orders IPS reshuffle

The Government of Manipur has appointed Mukesh Singh, IPS (AGMUT: 1996), as the Director General of Police (DGP), Manipur, and Head of the Police Force following his inter-cadre deputation from the AGMUT cadre to the Manipur cadre.
According to an official order, Mukesh Singh will assume charge as the DGP of Manipur with effect from June 1, 2026.
In the meantime, the state government has also ordered the transfer and posting of several IPS officers with immediate effect and until further orders in the public interest.
Ashutosh Kumar Sinha, IPS, has been transferred and posted as Chairman and Managing Director of MANIDCO in his existing grade pay. He will also hold the additional charge of Director of Inquiry, Manipur Lokayukta.
Lupheng Kailun has been transferred and posted as Managing Director of MPHC Ltd. in his existing grade pay.
Similarly, Lhari Dorjee Lhatoo, IPS, has been transferred and posted as Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) in charge of Armed Police, Modernization, Intelligence, and Law & Order.
The transfers and postings are part of the government’s administrative restructuring aimed at strengthening governance and policing in the state.
