Manipur University and the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), New Delhi, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on January 18, 2024.
According to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Manipur University and RIS will collaborate on research in agreed-upon areas, as well as publish and share information. The MoU also emphasizes that the Centre for Myanmar Studies at Manipur University will work together with RIS, New Delhi, on research and publication regarding India-Myanmar Relations.
The Memorandum of Understanding was jointly signed by Professor W. Chandbabu Singh, Registrar of Manipur University, on behalf of the university, and Professor Sachin Chaturvedi, Director General of RIS, New Delhi, on behalf of the research institute. Professor Mc. Arunkumar, Director of the Centre for Myanmar Studies at Manipur University, was also present during the signing.
Manipur University is grateful for the guidance and advice of Professor Naorem Lokendra, Vice-Chancellor of the university, in the process of signing this Memorandum of Understanding. The initiative for this agreement was taken by Minister of State (MoS) Dr. RK Ranjan from the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
