MSPCL Managing Director Ng. Subhachandra terminated

The Government of Manipur has terminated the contractual engagement of Ng. Subhachandra Singh, Managing Director of the Manipur State Power Company Limited (MSPCL), with immediate effect. The order was issued yesterday by Dr. Shailesh Kumar Chourasia, Secretary (Power), in the name of the Governor of Manipur.
Ng. Subhachandra Singh was appointed to the post on August 1, 2023, on a contractual basis for a period of two years through an open advertisement. However, a review of his performance during the tenure found it to be unsatisfactory. Citing the powers conferred under the Articles of Association of MSPCL and in the interest of public service, the Governor ordered the premature termination of his appointment.
Following the order, Ng. Subhachandra Singh has been directed to relinquish his duties immediately and hand over charge to the next senior most officer in the company, Th. Bimol Singh. Bimol Singh will assume the role of Managing Director, MSPCL, until further orders are issued.
