MPP Chanura Marup today said that the shooting of a protesting student from from a close using rubber bullet by state security force who are meant to protect the people is a rare case that happen in the world. In a press statement the MPP Chanura Marup said that the agitations demanding legislation for protection of the indigenous people of the state from the clutch of the illegal influx has been suppressed time and again by the government of Manipur. Students who are suppose to study had to even come out at the street to protest leaving their book.
The women wing of the MPP said that Sapam Robinhood who was killed by the police on July 8 during a protest rally for implementation of the ILP is now the torch bearer of the people. While paying condolence at the highest level the MPP condemn the excess committed by the state force towards the agitators. It said the immoral police personnel who do not know how to control a public agitation should given proper training.
The MPP Chanura Marup also demanded immediate arrest and punishment of the police involved in the killing of the student by awarding him life imprisonment sentence.
