MPCCR visits rape victim family

Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MCPCR) chairperson Sumatibala Ningthoujam in a press released stated that an Emergency Meeting was held today the 3,d September, 2020 Thursday at 12:30 pm at the office chamber of the Chairperson. Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MCPCR) regarding an incident involving a minor girl of Mayang Imphal, Bengun Mamang Leikai being sexually assaulted and left for dead according to a source from print and electronic media. The meeting was chaired by the Chairperson it added.
MCPCR further state that a team of Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MCPCR) led by the Chairperson visited the victim’s family members and also participated in the meeting organized by CSO and JAC formed for the justice of the minor girl victim and in the meeting Chairperson, MCPCR also heighted about the rigorous punishment to the culprits under the POCSO Act, 2012 and also shared to extend full support from the MCPCR for the victim minor girl. A letter has been also written to the concerned departments for taking necessary actions against the culprits. And also it is learned from the reliable source that the victim minor girl who was undergoing treatment ICU, RIMS Hospital after the inhuman act of the culprits is expired due to the tortured by the culprits.
