Vice President of the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) Dr. Ratankumar expressed strong condemnation to the order of shifting of the building of Imphal West DIET Center from Mayang Imphal during a press conference held today at Rishang Keishing Media Centre Congress Bhawan today.
Speaking at the press briefing, he stated that during his tenure as Education Minister, the site for constructing the Imphal West was finalised at Mayang Imphal with proper land survey and also laid foundation.
Stating that according to a letter to the Directorate of SCERT, it is mentioned that top layer of the selected site is weak and double piling is mandatory, he asked where is the selected site as there is no construction works in the previously finalised site.
He asserted that it is the culture of BJP government to change the names of policies and schemes and shifting the office buildings.
He also asked the Chief Minister to intervene in this matter and appealed to terminate the order of shifting the Institute building of Imphal West DIET center from Mayang Imphal.
He added that otherwise such a step would amount to protest and all forms of democratic agitations will be carried out by the people.
He further demanded the state government to provide a detailed blueprint of works taken up for the Institute building at the alleged selected site.
The press conference was attended by General Secretaries Km. Tilotamo, S Jiten, Sokho George and other leaders.
