Imphal, Dec 28:
Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee today observed the 139th Foundation Day of the Indian National Congress at Congress Bhavan.
Speaking on the occasion former speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly, also treasurer of the MPCC, MLA Th. Lokeshwar strikes hard at both the center and the state government alleging both for trying to wipe out the Meitei community from the state.
MLA Th. Lokeshwar, who attended the observance as chief guest hoisted the INC flag. He said that the MPCC condemns both the government at the state and center over its failure to contain the violence in the state which is nearing 8 months. He appealed to all the people of the state to stand united and fight any attempt to distort the integrity of Manipur.
The observance was attended by Kh. Devabrata Singh, Working President, MPCC, and Vidyapati Senjam, Vice President, MPCC as President and Guest of Honour.
A two-minute silence was observed as a mark of respect to the 11 MPCC members who had left for heavenly abode from Dec 25, 2022, to Dec 25, 2023.
