MPCC delegation meets Rajya Sabha MP Imran Pratapgarhi to discuss Manipur crisis

Amid the ongoing turmoil in Manipur, including the continued blockade of two national highways, hardships faced by farmers, and escalating tensions in the hill districts, a delegation of the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) met with Rajya Sabha MP Imran Pratapgarhi in New Delhi today. Pratapgarhi, who also serves as the National Chairman of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) Minority Department, was apprised of the worsening situation in the state and urged to raise the matter during the ongoing Parliament session.
The MPCC team was led by Congress leader and former MLA Md. Amin Shah, accompanied by MPCC General Secretaries Md. Amir Hussain and Heishnam Meghachandra Mangangchandra. The delegation met MP Imran Pratapgarhi at his official residence located at 12A Pandit Ravi Shankar Shukla Lane (Canning Lane), Kasturba Gandhi Marg, New Delhi.
During the meeting, the MPCC delegation detailed the impact of the blockade of key national highways on the movement of essential goods and the economic strain on common people. They also highlighted the difficulties faced by farmers due to the disruption in agricultural activities and drew attention to the ongoing insecurity and instability in the hill areas of the state.
The Congress leaders urged MP Imran Pratapgarhi to raise these pressing issues in Parliament and seek immediate attention from the Centre. The delegation also discussed the need to strengthen the Congress party’s organisational base among the minority Muslim population in Manipur.
Responding to the concerns, MP Imran Pratapgarhi assured the team of his full support and stated that he would soon visit Manipur to assess the ground reality and take up the matter with appropriate urgency.
