MP Sharda urges Centre to prioritise IDP rehabilitation

Rajya Sabha MP A. Sharda Devi had urged the Centre to expedite the approval of proposals submitted by the Manipur Government, with particular emphasis on the welfare, rehabilitation and well-being of internally displaced persons (IDPs) affected by the ongoing crisis in the state.

During a meeting with Union Minister for Women and Child Development Annapurna Devi at Parliament House, Sharda Devi discussed various issues concerning Manipur’s development in the prevailing socio-political situation.

In a social media post following the meeting, the Rajya Sabha MP said she requested the Union Minister to facilitate the early approval of the state’s pending proposals and demands, stressing the need for timely intervention and enhanced support for affected communities, particularly IDPs.

According to the MP, the Union Minister assured her that the Ministry of Women and Child Development would extend all possible assistance to the people of Manipur and give due consideration to the issues and requests raised during the meeting.
