Imphal, Oct 7:

The Moirangpurel Area Local Truck Drivers Association (MALTDA) has successfully repaired a 20-kilometer stretch of road from Napet Palli in Imphal East District to Itham Moirangpurel and up to Thoubal Dam. The road, which had been in disrepair for years, was causing significant challenges for both trucks and local commuters.
Dewan Takhellambam, Secretary of the Association, stated that the road, connecting Thoubal Dam and nearby areas, had been neglected for over a decade. In response, the association took the initiative to repair the road within a year. The project involved the use of trucks, JCBs, and Proclain machinery, with over 250 truckloads of material being transported to fill potholes and level the road.
The association worked on some of the most severely damaged sections of the road to ensure smooth travel for vehicles. Dewan also appealed to the MLAs of Lamlai and Andro Assembly Constituencies to provide financial assistance and additional equipment to further improve the road and ease the difficulties faced by commuters along this route.
