Modi to dedicate 3 social security schemes to the nation on May 9; Ibobi will launch the trio schemes on the same day in Imphal

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate to the Nation three social security schemes called Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Atal Pension Yojana (APY) on May 9 this year.
The same will also be launched by the Chief Minister of Manipur here in Imphal. The state government is all set to organised a state function for the occasion.
Nationwide launch for the schemes will be held at all State capitals and major centres which will be attended by Governors/Chief Ministers and other dignitaries simultaneously with the main launching ceremony by the Prime Minister at Kolkata on May 9, 2015, which will be telecast live at all other launch venues.
In a press release, Convener, State Level Bankers Committee, AGM, SBI, Regional Business Office said that the functions will commence all over the country at 5.30 pm with the arrival of the respective chief
guests followed by welcome addresses, screening of film on the schemes live from Kolkata at 6.17 pm, distribution of certificates of Insurance/ Passbooks to 3 subscribers by the PM live from Kolkata at
6.24 pm.
These schemes offer Insurance and Pension cover to all persons who have a savings bank AC with any bank in India, at very low rates of annual premium/contribution.
With premium of Rs 12.00 pa only PMSBY covers accidental death and total disability with an Insurance of Rs 2.00 lakh and partial disability Insurance of Rs 1.00 lakh. PMJJBY offers Life Insurance cover upto Rs 2.00 lakh for an annual premium of Rs 330.00 per annum.
APY is essentially targeted towards providing monthly income to people in the unorganized sector when they are no longer earning, with monthly pensions of Rs 1000.00 to Rs 5000.00 depending upon their
contribution and age of entry into the scheme.
