A large number of mob vandalised the office of the BJP Thongju Mandal office located at Khongman Okram Chuthek in Imphal East at around 11.30 pm yesterday.
Report said that a large number of people gathered near the BJP Mandal office and started vandalising the office blaming the BJP which is in power in the state and the center for failure to control the ongoing crisis in the state.
“The office is on the first floor, and the ground floor is used as a market shed. Nearby there is an electric transformer. The mob took all the documents and burnt them on the road side”, an eyewitness told Imphal Times.
Thongju Assembly constituency is represented by MLA Th. Biswajit, who is also a senior Minister of the BJP-led Government of Manipur. Incidentally, MP Dr. R.K. Ranjan, who is also MoS EA, happens to be from the Thongju Assembly constituency.
