MNPF condemns killing of four cadres at Hongpei

The Manipur Naga People’s Front (MNPF) has condemned the killing of four cadres of the NSCN Eastern Flank at Hongpei village under Kasom Khullen sub-division in Kamjong district.
In a statement, MNPF Publicity Secretary Thomas Numai stated that the incident occurred on the night of March 27 around 9:30 pm, when cadres of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (Isak-Muivah) (NSCN-IM) allegedly shot dead four members of the NSCN Eastern Flank.
He further alleged that the incident was orchestrated to divert attention from the ongoing Kuki–Naga tensions and claimed the involvement of security forces in coordination with armed groups, an assertion that remains unverified.
The MNPF stated that such acts of violence undermine public trust and weaken the credibility of revolutionary groups, while also posing risks to ongoing unity efforts among organisations in the WESEA region.
Describing the incident as a dark chapter in the Naga movement, the organisation said the Naga people, particularly the Tangkhul community, are seeking justice and clarity, and urged that those responsible be identified and held accountable.
