Yaiskul Assembly Constituency MLA Thokchom Satyabrata has stated that public welfare projects initiated during times of hardship should not be viewed through a political lens, adding that developmental activities must not be delayed on baseless suspicions.
Speaking at the inauguration of a newly constructed mandav (community prayer hall) of Shree Shree Gopinath at Hiruhanba Leikai, MLA Satyabrata clarified that the project was taken up using funds from the MLA Local Area Development (MLALAD) scheme. The mandav construction, he noted, was a long-standing demand of the local residents, and it was implemented through proper procedures and community participation.
He further said that although the state assembly is currently suspended, developmental proposals under the Planning and Resources (PR) department are still being processed. As such, it is possible that similar developmental activities will be taken up soon in other areas once an appropriate time frame is defined.
MLA Satyabrata also urged fellow legislators to act with awareness of the needs and expectations of the people and to refrain from politicising efforts aimed at public welfare.
