MLA Radheshyam flags off Burma Sugnu road work

Construction of the Burma Sugnu Road stretch from Wabagai Lamkhai to Sugnu commenced today under the supervision of Hiyanglam MLA Dr. Yumnam Radheshyam.
Speaking at the launch, Dr. Yumnam Radheshyam stated that the road had remained in a dilapidated condition for over 15 years, causing immense hardship to people of various villages of Kakching district. He said that despite financial constraints faced by the new government, approval was granted for development of the road in view of the difficulties encountered by the public, and work has accordingly begun from Wabagai Lamkhai.
The MLA informed that to expedite completion, one group of workers will undertake construction from the Wabagai Lamkhai side while another group will simultaneously begin work from the Sugnu side. This dual approach, he said, is aimed at ensuring early completion of the project. He appealed to the public to extend cooperation to the labourers engaged in the work.
Dr. Yumnam Radheshyam further stated that under the leadership of the Chief Minister, work on NH-137(A), also known as Mayai Lambi, has been progressing with one team operating from the Imphal side and another from Kakching Lamkhai. He added that completion of these road projects will ease travel for the public.
