MLA N. Kayisii passes away at 58

N. Kayisii, sitting Member of the Manipur Legislative Assembly (MLA) representing Tadubi Assembly Constituency, passed away today at his official residence in Lamphel, Imphal, after a prolonged illness. He was 58 years old.
Late N. Kayisii was a prominent political figure in Manipur. He was elected to the Manipur Legislative Assembly in 2017 and re-elected in the 2022 elections as a representative of the National People’s Party (NPP). In March 2021, he assumed the role of President of the Manipur State Unit of the National People’s Party.
During his tenure, Kayisii served as the Minister of Tribal and Hill Areas Development and Fisheries in Chief Minister N. Biren Singh’s cabinet from 2017 to 2020.
His demise marks a significant loss for the state and the political fraternity. Further details about the funeral arrangements are awaited.
