MLA Joykishan opposes Ring road construction without consultation with the people of Thangmeiband

Congress MLA from Thangmeiband Assembly constituency Khumukcham Joykishan today strongly opposed the state government proposal for construction of Ring road in Imphal city.
A meeting in the connection to discuss the issue was held today with the MLA in the Chair.
Speaking to media persons, MLA Joykishan question the government if the proposal for construction of the ring road has been consulted with the people of Thangmeiband Assembly constituency. He said, the matter was even put up to the notice of the Works Minister during state assembly session and the works minister assured to take up the ring road construction works after due consultation with all those affected people.
“I have seen a report appeared at a local daily regarding the taking of the construction works for ring road”, Joykishan said and added that there are many people who have been settled from time immemorial at Thangmeiband assembly constituency , who are going to be affected if the construction works f the ring road started.
“Have the PWD department authority ever consulted with the people who are going to be affected ?”, Joykishan said and added that the people of Thangmeiband Assembly constituency will strongly opposed to such construction of ring road as they have not been consulted. He also said that he along with the people of Thangmeiband Assembly constituency will write letter to the Asian bank that is going to finance the ring road construction.
