Minister Y. Khemchand Emphasizes Jiribam’s Crucial Role in Manipur’s Progress

RD & PR, MAHUD Minister, Y. Khemchand, today visited Jiribam district to assess ongoing developmental projects. Engaging with leaders from Civil Society Organizations, Student Organizations, and local authorities, the minister discussed concerns raised by the community.
During the interaction, CSO leaders highlighted issues in the health sector, particularly the dire state of the Jiribam 50-bedded hospital. E. Devan Singh, President of Jiri Development Organisation, expressed concern, noting the hospital’s inadequate facilities for critical patients, often necessitating referrals to Silchar Hospital.
The Minister handed over the key of the newly constructed District Panchayat Resources Centre in Jiribam to the Adhyaksha of Jiribam.
Minister Khemchand acknowledged Jiribam District as the gateway to Manipur, emphasizing its pivotal role in the state’s development. He assured the approval of five roads for rural development in Jiribam and pledged to initiate various development projects in the district.
In his commitment to addressing the challenges faced by Jiribam, Minister Khemchand reaffirmed the government’s dedication to enhancing the district’s infrastructure and overall well-being.
He further expressed his gratitude to the Peace Committee, Civil Society Organizations, and the residents of Jiribam on the importance of maintaining peace in the district amidst the ethnic violence unfolding in Manipur.
The interaction was attended by ADC, Jiribam S. Indrajit Singh, Adhyaksha of Jiribam K. Janaki Devi, Ch. Chidananda Singh, Vice-President, BJP Manipur Pradesh; N. Budhachandra, Social Worker Jiribam.
