Minister Shyam discusses issues in Saikot SDO with local panel

Imphal, May 26: A delegation of Saikot Sub Division Demand Committee submitted a memorandum to revenue minister on the difficulties being faced by the sub division office there in addressing the needs of the people due to lack of manpower and infrastructure.
The delegates who visited the minister at his office on May 24 last included chairman of the committee Timothy Z Zote, vice-chaiman Samuel Darngawn, secretary R Lalkaisanga and member Lalsandam.
In a correspondence made available to the press by the committee, it was mentioned that Shyam promised the delegation that he will look into their grievances at the earliest. He even reportedly called up the Deputy Commissioner of Churachandpur to solicit his suggestions.
On the same day, the delegation also met the commissioner of revenue and showed its appreciation for his openness towards the genuine issues placed before the government.

The committee further thanked the general public, village authorities, chiefs and fellow committee members stating that they offered unwavering support towards Saikot Sub Division development movement.
“We also appreciate the moral support from our partners and signatories to our movement – Hmar Inpui, Zomi Council (HQ), Mizo People Convention (Manipur), Vaiphei People Convention, Kuki Inpi (Churachandpur) and Hmar National Union (Block 5). Their support has been instrumental in strengthening our cause,” the letter stated.
The delegates presented Shyam and the revenue commissioner with a Hmar thangsuopuon each.
