Minister Nemcha Kipgen Instructs MSCW To Expedite Decade Old Murder Case

Social Welfare Minister Smt. Nemcha Kipgen reiterating the stand of the government against all forms of crime against any person including women and children today instructed and supervised Manipur State Women Commission (MSCW) to expedite the decade old murder case of Smt. Anarkali @ Kimboi, who was allegedly killed by her husband in the year 2005.
 Minister Nemcha stated that law will definitely takes its own course of time and justice will be delivered to the victims and all the guilty person/persons will be punished according to the law.
As per the report of the MSCW, the case which was pending since 2005 is now under active investigation with joint efforts of the commission and Manipur Police Department under the guidance of Social Welfare Minister.
A team of Manipur State Women Commission led by the Chairperson, Dr. K. Sobita Devi along with its Members – Dr. Farida Shah and Smt Ranjita Golmei met the Director General of Police, Manipur, Shri L.M. Khaute and submitted a letter to make an enquiry into the complaint made by the mother of the deceased.
The team convened an emergency meeting at the office of the Social Welfare Minister earlier this week to discuss the core issues faced or meted out to the women and their remedies.
Chairperson, Dr. K. Sobita Devi stated that the commission takes each case seriously and efforts are made to deliver justice without much delay. She further informed that, with the intervention of the Minister, State DGP handed the case over to one senior IGP and the IGP is monitoring the case minutely and will soon hand over the report on or before the stipulated time.
It may be mentioned that out of the 198 cases with the commission, 146 cases has been solved since 2016
