Unlike the civil society organisations based in valley areas of the state, civil body spear-heading the violent protest in Churachandpur district against the passing of the three ILPS related Bills today organised a grand reception for the Internal Security Secretary Ashok Prashad of the Ministry of Home Affairs who was sent to take stock of the situation happening in the state by Narendra Modi Government. According to report reaching here, large number of people along with the Village Chiefs from Churachandpur areas gathered at Kangvai area at around 9 am to give a warm reception to the central government representatives led by the Internal Security Secretary. As soon as the central government representative reached Kangvai, the large number people already gathered at Kangvai shouted slogans welcoming the Indian Government representatives and denouncing the Ibobi administration in the state. From Kangvai, the Union Government representative along with his team was escorted to Lamka Public ground, where a meeting was organized. The JAC spearing-heading the anti-ILPS agitation submitted a memorandum to the Internal Security Secretary demanding a separate administration for the tribal dominated region of the state. Leaders of the JAC also reportedly presented the present condition and the probable outcome of the three Bills passed  for implementation of the ILPS in the state. Later, the Internal Security Secretary of MHA along with other government official visited the morgue where the dead bodies of the 9 people killed during the agitation were kept.

The central official may realize that the violence in Churachandpur is not against the three bill on ILP, it is demand for separate Union Territory for Kuki.

It’s time the Central Govt. should directly involve to safeguard the Tribals of Manipur as the Manipur Government continues to stand as a barrier for the Tribals. Even simple administration like provision under Sixth Schedule is refused by the Manipur Govt. They continually refused to explain the term ‘Local Adjustment’ even after a reminder after reminders went sent to the Manipur Govt. It’s too selfish.

As such, the Central Govt should get involve quickly to grant Separate Administration not lesser than UT to the tribals of Manipur, as @Bhadrapati Devi and other Meitei community agreed.
