MFO condemns Kangpokpi ambush

Manipur Federal Organization (MFO) has strongly condemned the deadly ambush that took place between Kotzim and Kotlen in Kangpokpi district on today morning.
In a statement issued by Aadil Khan, the organisation described the attack as “cowardly” and raised serious concerns over what it termed the continuing failure of the security apparatus in Manipur.
The organisation questioned how armed attackers could execute such a deadly ambush in broad daylight and escape despite the heavy deployment of paramilitary forces and the recent large-scale recruitment of state security personnel.
MFO alleged that while security forces are often seen using force against civilians participating in democratic protests in the valley districts, they appear ineffective in preventing violent attacks and killings in remote areas. The organisation stated that the contrast in the functioning of security forces has deepened public distrust and insecurity across the state.
Referring to circulating video footage allegedly showing excesses against civilians during protests, MFO claimed that ordinary citizens are subjected to aggressive action, whereas armed perpetrators involved in serious crimes continue to operate with impunity.
The organisation demanded immediate identification and arrest of those responsible for the ambush and warned that failure to act decisively could trigger stronger public reactions.
