Well known theater director Kanhailal will be conferred the META (Mahindra Excellence in Theater Awards) Lifetime Achievement Award for 2015 during the META Awards Night to be held on 27 March 2015 at the Taj Hotel, New Delhi.
The META award, which carries Rs 5 Lakh was instituted 5 years ago to acknowledge the dedication, energy and works of leading theater practitioners across the decades.
Kanhailal, who founded Kalakshetra Manipur in 1969 has been continuing experiment with tradition for an alternate theatre. He worked with Badal Sircar, who won the META award.
