Meritorious students, sportspersons felicitated at Langmeidong

The Women Development Sporting Committee, Langmeidong Maning Makha Leikai organised a felicitation programme at the community hall of Youth Guidance Club, Laimeidong Maning Makha Leikai in connection with the committee’s first Foundation Day. During the event, students who successfully cleared the 2022 MPSC examination as well as meritorious students who excelled in examinations conducted by BOSEM, COHSEM, and various other fields were honoured and encouraged.
Speaking on the occasion, Yumnam Radheshyam, MLA of Hiyanglam AC stated that every indigenous community living in Manipur should support one another and live together with love and harmony. He further stated that no developmental work can be brought to Manipur, until peace is restored in the state. He appealed to the people to unite and work towards restoring normalcy.
During the programme, Yumnam Sanjuna Chanu, who cleared the 2022 MPSC examination, and Huidrom Malemnganbi, who received a gold medal in Master of Science (Community Service) in Human Development and Family Studies, were felicitated. Meritorious students who excelled in the 2026 examinations conducted by COHSEM and BOSEM, along with sportspersons who won medals in sports events, were also honoured with gifts and encouragement during the function.
The function was also attended by Yumnam Shyamo, Chairperson of Langmeidong GP, Chongtham Indrajit, former member of Waikhong ZP, and Longjam Tikensana, Principal of Iramdam Maheikol, as dignitaries.
Also, a felicitation programme for meritorious students from government and private schools within the Hiyanglam Assembly Constituency who secured high marks in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination 2026, as well as sportspersons who won medals in various tournaments held across India, was held today at the residence of MLA Dr. Yumnam Radheshyam at Langmeidong Bazar. The 25th edition of the felicitation programme was jointly organised by the MLA and Rural People’s Educational Development Organisation.
At the programme, Yumnam Radheshyam attended as Chief Guest, while Chongtham Indrajit, former member of Waikhong Zilla Parishad, attended as President. Retired SBI Manager Yumnam Ibobi attended the event as Guest of Honour.
