Memorandum demanding amendment of Articles 3, 371C submitted to Prime Minister of India

Ojha Sanajaoba Memorial Trust (OSMT) Manipur has submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister of India demanding amendment of Article 3 and Article 371 C (1) & (2) of the Indian constitution to ensure the safeguard of the historically evolved multi-ethnic territorial boundary of Manipur.
The demand for the amendment of Article 3 and Article 371 C (1) & (2) of the Indian Constitution was adopted on a “One-Day Dialogue on Idea of Manipur: A Historical Legacy of an Asiatic Civilization” held on September 18, at the Conference Hall, Department of Commerce, Manipur University jointly organised by the Centre for Human Rights and Duties Education, Manipur University and the OSMT. The resolution adopted by the Panel session of the Dialogue was submitted as a memorandum to the Prime Minister of India. Copies of the memorandum were also submitted to the President of India, the Home Minister of India, the Governor of Manipur, and the Chief Minister of Manipur.
The plenum of experts and participants on the One-Day Dialogue had unanimously resolved to urge the Government of India for a Constitutional Guarantee to safeguard the status quo ante of the historically evolved and constitutionally re-established pre-state territorial integrity of Manipur, by way of Constitutional amendments for ensuring, (i) Restriction to implementation of Art.3 of the Constitution in respect of Manipur, and (ii) Amendment of Art. 371C(1) & (2) of the Constitution so as to empower State legislature to deal with the inherent politico-history, socioeconomic, and multi-ethnic cultural ethos of Manipur.”
