Meitei Pangal body joins demand for reservation of 4% seats

A press meet held at Manipur press club demanding of the All Manipur Muslim (Meitei-Pangal) welfare Association (AMMPWA) for extension of reservation for OBC in admission into the educational institution of OBC communities in Manipur.
All Manipur Muslim (Meitei-Pangal) welfare Association (AMMPWA) has once more drawn attention of the state government to extend 4 % reservation in favour of Meitei Pangal while admission to higher studies.
In a press meet held today at Manipur Press Club, the AMMPWA said that during AMMPWA silver jubilee celebration in 2018 the association submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister of Manipur on January 1, 2018 and on October 2, 2018 in the function where he attended as the Chief Guest.
Reservation for OBC should include General education also not limited to Professional and Technical Education as per the judgment of Supreme Court in Indra Shauny case 1992 which is a famous in the legal circle.
AMMPWA reiterates its demand, among others, to extend the reservation of the OBC including specifying 4% reservation for Meitei-Pangal  in the admission of Students for the General courses in all the Educational institutions of Manipur. Government as well as Private as a policy of the State Government at the earliest. The demands of the CSOs for the same which have been in the news recently in local media is a long standing serious demand of the AMMPWA.
