Meitei Leepun, while welcoming the announcement by Home Minister Amit Shah for conducting combing operation in Manipur for recovering of the arms and ammunitions taken by the people in the aftermath of the Communal Riot, today urged the government to conduct the combing operation both at Hills and Valley at one time.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club, member of the Meitei Leepun , Shilan Meishnam said that if the government conduct the combing operation at some specific areas leaving others then the violence may escalates, as there is still no dearth of attacking Meitei villages by armed Kuki militants.
He further appealed the people not to hamper the movement of the security forces including the central forces like the CRPF as these central forces are on their duty to help the people and the state forces.
“The CRPF were sent in on the request of the state force after they were attacked by the armed militants”, Shilan said adding that the Meitei Leepun team also sometimes need the assistance of the Central troopers or the state force when they were on their mission for the protection of the Meitei people.
