The Meitei Leepun warns of countermeasures against any Economic Blockade on the National Highways of the state. This was stated in a Press release sent out by the organisation yesterday. The press release said the frequent imposition of Economic Blockade along the National Highways has brought about hardships and miseries to the people residing in the valley districts. There had been loss of lives, merciless instances of arson and destruction of vehicles ferrying essential items, intimidation, and assault of innocent truck drivers who are securing the daily needs of the people due to such economic blockade.
A befitting reply will be given to those who impose such Economic Blockades and are fully prepared to retaliate against any such form of blockade along the National Highways and to impose counter Blockade within the state. Such countermeasures will also be taken up by Joint Committee Assam and Manipur on Atrocities Against Manipur Valley, the statement added.
