Imphal, July 31:
Meitei Leepun has declared a social boycott against Alfred Kan-Ngam Arthur, the Member of Parliament representing Outer Manipur, citing his overt advocacy for the destructive agenda of the illegal immigrant Kukis in the Indian Parliament and elsewhere, according to a press release issued by the Meitei Leepun.
The statement by Meitei Leepun states that Manipur has been ensnared in a state of turmoil since May 2023. This unrest is attributed to the rigorous efforts of the incumbent government led by N. Biren Singh, aimed at curbing the illegal influx of immigrants, dismantling the drug trade, eradicating poppy plantations, and safeguarding the state’s reserved forests. These initiatives have had profound implications for all communities within the state over an extended period.
The press release further added that the illegal immigrant Kukis, and the Indian Kukis brought by the British Raj as labourers—have expressed discontent with the government’s measures and have launched a concerted campaign against them. As part of a prolonged plan to establish a “Homeland” spanning Bangladesh, Burma, and India, the illegal immigrant Kukis and their Indian Kuki allies have orchestrated a violent crusade across these nations. Specifically, they have targeted the Indian Meiteis in Manipur, who have historically coexisted peacefully with the Manipur Nagas, Manipuri Muslims, Manipuri Gorkhas, and Indian Kukis. The Kukis have engaged in arson, incinerating Meitei homes, and have perpetrated the killing of innocent Meiteis amid their confrontation with the government, the press release details.
The organization contends that Alfred Arthur’s stance signifies a blatant disregard for the government’s endeavors to protect the indigenous populace and trivializes the invaluable lives lost by those defending against external aggressions that jeopardize national security.
