MEELAL appealed to all the Manipuri language writers of the state to not use other languages apart from Manipuri language.Speaking in a press conference Secretary, MEELAL, Paonam Thakaba said that a state level Manipuri Lexicon Committee has been formed to ensure there is no word of other languages have been used in any books of Manipuri literature. After being approved by the committee Manipuri Literature books for standard 9 and 10 for the academic session of 2015 will be available in September of this year. He added that MEELAL appeals to all the Manipuri language writers of the state to stop using other languages apart from Manipuri language and if any book is found publishing abiding the restriction MEELAL will cease the book publication. He also said that MEELAL has appealed to the concerned departments to not keep any books which abide the restriction of MEELAL.
