RTI activists who went to the office of the Manipur Development Society (MDS) to submit his sets of questions to the society have to return back as no staffs were found attending the office during the three days. Speaking to Imphal Times, a RTI activist said that he had visited the office since the last five days and waited till 1 pm to meet any of the authority of the MDS but, as none of the officers of the MDS are available in the office he had to come back without submitting the questionnaires. MDS is presently located at the newly constructed Secure Building located at North AOC line along with 6 other government and government undertaking offices. In the said building the MDS occupied a total of 16 rooms. The RTI activists said that during his visit in the last 5 days he never met any of the officers of the society including the Project Director cum Chief Engineer Yambem Ningthem and when enquired some peons said that most of the officers use to attend after 1 pm and return back before 3 pm.
Earlier, the MDS was headed by the Chief Minister as its Chairman but now it has been handed over to MLA DK Korungthang as the Chairman.
