MDA demand amendement of the MLR and LR Act

Convenor of the Manipur Democratic Alliance (MDA) , N. Tombi today demanded the amendment of the Manipur Land Revenue and Land Reform Act to make sure that all citizens of the state are being provided with equal rights. Talking to media persons Tombi said that the MDA appreciated the one India one law concept of the Narendra Modi Led government and he said that such should be applied to the state of Manipur.
“We have heard that the talk between the Naga insurgents and the Government of India is nearing completion and as promised by the Union Home Minister , we are being informed that the central government has invited the Chief Minister N. Biren Singh and Opposition leader Okram Ibobi Singh on November 9”, N Tombi said and added that while talking with the central leaders we should not remain as defender but we should plan for more move to equate with the kind of decision that the center is likely to take.
On the other hand the Convenor of the MDA N. Tombi also said that the MDA strongly demand conversion of the Meetei, Meitei to ST status and said that the government of Manipur should convened a meeting of the all political parties to discuss the issue of the delimitation.
