A statement of the Maoist Communist Party (MSP) Manipur today said that a global platform called International Committee of Solidarity for Manipur Revolution (ICSMR) formed in support of the MCP’s New Democratic Revolution has announced January 26, 2015 as the International Protest day against Indian Expansionism. As a part of the observance a protest demonstration under the slogan “End the Indian Occupation in Manipur” will be staged at New York on the day, the Maoist statement added. Giving reason to choose New York as the location for the protest, ICSMR said that the invitation of US President Barack Obama to grace the Indian Republic Day as the Chief Guest is nothing but a strong message of consolidating anti-people reactionary alliance of the Imperialist world. It said that almost ten thousand of people have been killed in Manipur under the Arm Forces Special Powers Act 1958 is an example of Indian Army’s on-going war on people in the South Asian Sub-Continent. Saying that Operation Green Hunt is another example of Hypocrisy of the so called largest democracy in the World, the International body asked if India is a republic. It said India is a prison of various nation and nationalities.
