Imphal, Dec 1:

A large-scale joint search operation, involving the Manipur Police and the Indian Army, has been underway since November 25, 2024, to locate Kamal Babu, who has been reported missing.
A police statement said that the Indian Army has mobilized over 2,000 troops, along with helicopters, drones, and army tracker dogs, to aid the search efforts. Despite these extensive resources, no conclusive evidence has been found so far. Searches conducted in and around the Leimakhong Military Station have failed to confirm that Mr. Babu was either inside the military station or in the surrounding areas when he went missing.
According to sources, while initial investigations did not yield any direct leads, further inquiries are now being carried out through technical intelligence. The authorities have not ruled out the possibility of new evidence emerging as the investigation progresses.
