Guwahati, Nov 9:

Over a thousand people took out an impressive rally in the prehistoric city on 8 November protesting against the arrest of senior journalist and Republic TV’s chief editor Arnab Goswami by the Mumbai police. The participants including cultural activists, academics, film personalities, Satradhikars, journalists, etc chanted slogans condemning the Uddhav Thackeray led Shiv Sena-NCP- Indian National Congress government of Maharashtra  for atrociously arresting Goswami. They also displayed placards, posters and large banners in his favour, who  hails from a Colonel family in Assam.
Earlier in separate occasions, the nationalist citizens in Assam staged protest demonstrations against Goswami’s arrest.
