A massive fire broke out at the office of the Crime Investigation Department (CID) of Manipur Police around 2 AM, and eight other tenders were used to control the fire. On receiving the information, fire tenders immediately rushed to the spot and doused the fire. However, the exact details are yet to be ascertained. But, it was suspected that the fire could have started from a short circuit.
Meanwhile, precautionary measures have been initiated at the Imphal West Police Station, Manipur Rifles, Imphal Secretariat, and BSNL Office.
As per officials of the Manipur Fire Service, the fire was completely under control. While, documents, and office materials stored at the CID office were gutted by the massive fire.
Meanwhile, chief minister N Biren Singh gave the fire incident report at the ongoing second session of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly on Monday.
An FIR has been registered with regard to the fire incident for further investigation, CM Biren Singh told the House.
