Imphal, Dec 15: Mass protest rally against the creation of the new district by bifurcating Sanapati, Ukhrul, Tamenglong and Chandel district were staged today at Ukhrul, Senapati Tamenglong and Chandel district head quarters today afternoon.
Slogan decrying the government decision were used in the protest. The mass rally which was organised under the aegis of the UNC also demanded immediate released of UNC President Gaidon Kamei and Publicity Secretary Stephen Lamkang without condition.
