Imphal, Mar 24:
With the aim of easing the conflict situations prevailing in the State of Manipur, a Mass Prayer was held at the Ipudhou Marjing Khubhamlen in Imphal East today. The Mass Prayer was organized by the New Development Organisation, Singjamei, with representatives from various welfare organizations, praying to the Deity to bring peace and tranquility to the state.
Speaking at the event, Social Worker Oinam Romen Singh highlighted that the State of Manipur, with its diverse ethnic groups, has coexisted with a bond of love since time immemorial. However, the influx of illegal immigrants in recent years has significantly impacted the indigenous people of the state, which he deemed unfortunate.
Romen Singh emphasized the need for intervention by both the Central and State Governments to mitigate the conflict situations through proper channels, facilitating dialogue between the communities with the assistance of representatives and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).
He noted that amidst the ongoing conflict situations, many people have sought refuge in various Relief Camps across the state, living in distress. While they desire to return to their native places, it is beyond their control, requiring government initiatives to facilitate their return. As a result, they eagerly await government action.
Furthermore, Romen Singh expressed his commitment as a Social Worker to continue providing assistance to the inmates residing in Relief Camps by offering relief materials and support. He pledged to continue such efforts in the future for the wellbeing of those staying in such places.
