Mass Meira Rally demands restoration of peace in Jiribam

A large-scale Meira rally was held today in Jiribam District, with hundreds of women from various localities gathering to demand the restoration of peace in the region.
The rally, organized by a coalition of local organizations including LEECHING, AJUCA, JDO, WMC Jiribam District Com., AJMP, JIMPAL, JIMWAK, WWOK, WASED, and LWW, started from the Jiribam Ima Keithel Market area around 11:00 am and ended at DC office, Chingdong Leikai.
The protesters called for the immediate deployment of state security forces to the Borobekra Sub-division, the return of internally displaced persons (IDPs) to their respective homes, the reconstruction of burnt houses, and the overall restoration of peace in Jiribam.
The rally served as a powerful demonstration of the local community’s concerns and their unified call for the authorities to address the ongoing issues and ensure the safety and well-being of the residents in the district.
A joint memorandum has been submitted to the Deputy Commissioner of Jiribam, requesting immediate action to address the demand for peace and tranquility for the people of Jiribam.
