Chandel, June 4:
In view of the rising COVID-19 positive cases in the state and as directed by the state government, the district administration Chandel had also started mass testing drive for COVID-19 as part of the precautionary measures in the district.
Yesterday the District Health Department and District COVID- 19 Taskforce under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner, Chandel,
Mayanglambam Rajkumar, conducted mass testing for COVID-19 at Japhou Bazaar area, Riverlane and Hnaringkhu area. Out of total 220 persons tested today 20 people were found positive of which 9 were male and 11 were female.
It has been informed that as part of the mass testing drive three different locations were indentified. Besides the above location the other two locations are Western valley area and Chakpikarong Bazaar area where the mass testing will be conducted on 4th and 5th of this month respectively.
The Cluster Level Joint Task force committees, Leaders of the CSOs and Student organisations and Village Heads also played a very important role in successfully organising today’s mass testing drive.
