While alleging Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Lamphelpat authority of converting the hospital into a money spinning machine, Maoist Communist Party, Manipur has made its ultimate warning to rectify their misdeeds for the betterment of the poor people.
Instead of attending the poor patients, Doctors of the public hospital are devoting their service for private clinics, while the hospital authority including the Director is engaging in contract works. In order to make money doctors ask their patients to conduct all sort of required medical tests at private clinics and patients in this hospital are deprived from life saving drugs and pharmaceutical accessories which the patients must avail free of cost at the hospital, Nonglen Meitei, Secretary Publicity and Propaganda of the outfit alleged in a statement.
In this regard the outfit had already requested the RIMS authority including its Director earlier in the month of April this year. However, there is no visible sign of improvement in its service and no concrete steps were taken to address the illness, the secretary added.
Nonglen said that when the authority lends no ears to the request and the director himself beckons for a war, the Maoist would never run away from the battlefield. It has prepared to confront with the hospital authority.
If the doctors and authority failed to complied with their demands — to serve the poor patients by giving due attention, not to engage in private hospitals, provide necessary medical aids to patients — Maoist would take up the “second step”. The director should be responsible for any consequences, the secretary of the outfit warned.
