Maoist greets MAFYF on its 14th Foundation Day

Maoist Communist Party today sent message on occasion of the 14th Foundation day of the Manipur Forward Youth Front (MAFYF). A press statement signed by Comrade Nonglen Meitei, Secretary Publicity and Propaganda of the Maoist Communist Party said that the Manipur Forward Youth Front was formed on October 18, 2001 as a product of the consultation meet held on October 17 of the same year at Manipur Hindi Parishad. The statement said that MAFYF was first formed with a motive to bring a political reform in the region and later it struggled for Human Rights Violation. The Youth Front had also organised Manipur Youth marched and spread awareness about the threats to the indigenous people of the state. The front also organized Run for your motherland and has taken major role in preventing youths from using intoxicants. . In May 7, 2008, president of the MAFYF Sapamcha Kangleipal was arrested from Manipur Press club after a public meeting and later detained under NSA for voicing against the government. Kangleipal was later reported to have been escaped from the custody on December 29 of the same year, the statement said.Maoist Communist Party also cited the example of Hijam Irabot who had gone underground for voicing for the protection of the Manipur in September 29, 1948. Maoist statement also added that youths and students are the one who had engaged in revolutionary movement. Maoist appealed the MAFYF and its volunteers to prepare for Armed Manipur Youth March on occasion of its foundation day which falls on October 18.
