Maoist Communist Party, Manipur has asked the Head of the Department of Hindi Department, Manipur University to tender public apology for alleged conduct of goondaism and running a PhD racket inside the varsity campus.
After investigation it has been found that some candidates namely Pallavi Som (Bheeshm Sahani Ke Upanyason Ka Samaj Shastriya Adhayan, Manipur University. Reg No 2159/SW 2001); Nandalal Baral (Kamaleshwar Ka Upanyason Ka Samaj Shastriya Adhyan. PhD Reg. No 1575/2001); Sultana Begum (Abdul Bismillah Ke Upanyason Ka Samaj Shastriya Adhiyan. PhD Degree Regn No 2126/05); Saratkumari Nongmeikapam (Manu Bhandhari Ke Upanyason Ka Samaj Shastriya Adhiyan, PhD Regn No 2127/05, 2009) have obtained their PhD degree with illegal means and copying from each other, a release by Nonglen Meitei, Secretary Publicity and Propaganda of the outfit said. The HOD should surrender before the outfit within 48 hours and render apology, the outfit warned.
