Even as government has not taken up any immediate measures for opening of a permanent market shed for displaced Mao vegetable vendors, people of Imphal today gave warmth reception to the vendors and assisted them in selling their goods at the temporary shed arranged at Nagamapal. Speaking to media, a vendor lady said that they arrived at Imphal at around 2.30 pm today. And said that the security personnel had not given them any hindrance on the way. She however said that they will be happy if the government construct a permanent market shed for the Mao Villagers. Civil society leaders also opines the need for opening of a permanent market shed for the Mao community.
