Many condemn blasts at MLA Meghachandra’s residence; mass protest staged; two more suspects arrested

Many people including clubs, organizations and women Meira pabi group of Wangkhem Assembly constituency today condemn the deadly IED blast at the residence of MLA K Meghachandra around 9.30 pm yesterday. Large number of people today staged a sit-in-protest in front of the MLA’s residence at Yairipok denouncing the blast.
Two people suspected to have planted the IED were killed in the blast and two more suspects; both ladies who were allegedly involved in the planting of the bomb were arrested by a team of State police led by SDPO Hemanta today afternoon. The arrested suspects are identified as Sanu Chiru (age about 38 years) wife of O Khanba Chiru of Sangaithel and Nameirakpam Tombi Devi (age about 45) wife of N. Sarat of Yairipok Poiroukhongjin. Both are presently staying at rented room at Hatta Yairipok Colony. Interestingly Nameirakpam Tombi devi happened to be the mother of one of the deceased who was killed in yesterday deadly blast.
The two deceased who were suspected to have been killed while planting the bomb at the residence of MLA K Meghachandra, identified as Md Daulat Khan (22 years) and N. Boboi (30 years), both staying at rented rooms at Hatta Yairipok Colony were deposited at JNIMS morgue.
According to report the two suspected woman were arrested when both are talking about the incident in a suspicious way. Source said that the arrested lady Sanu Chiru was a Nepali by origin. Police source revealed that she came along with the two boys yesterday to plant the IED and were left for the job. 
Until the filing of this report, identity of the organization who had sent them could not be confirmed .
MLA Meghachandra was not at his home when the blast took place. He immediately rushed soon after hearing the news and took stock of the situation. Early today morning speaking to reporters the MLA expressed shocked over the attitude of those who plant the powerful bomb in residential area. He appealed those involved not to repeat such act in future. He also said that he had not received any demand note, threat calls from any of the organizations or individuals.
