MANPAC readies to meet HM; says will not compromise with the “No to CAB in NE”

Nine member team of the Manipur People Against Citizenship Bill (MANPAC) is all set to leave Imphal for New Delhi tomorrow to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah after the later invited them for consultative meeting in connection with the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) 2019.

“During our meeting with the Chief Minister yesterday we did not received any invitation even as the CM assures, however late after the meeting we heard about the invitation and it was today morning that they handed over the hard copy of the official invitation”, Yumnamcha Dilip said to reporters.

“We welcome the invitation even though it is late and we will not compromise with the one line demand of the people – “No to CAB in NE”, Dilip asserted.

The MANPAC team comprises of its Convenor Y. Dilip , Spokesperson Lancha Ningthouja, members Amu Kamei, Ph. Devan Sharma, Somorendro Thokchom, Kheiruddin Shiekh, L Jadumani, Mangcha Haokip and Thiyam Saratchandra will be meeting the Union Home Minister at 10:30 pm in New Delhi.

“Before leaving for New Delhi, we will get the blessing of the Kethel Imas and other Ima Meira Paibis at 10 am at Khwairamband Keithel. From there will move to Airport”, Dilip said.

Dilip and Lancha appeal the people to pray for the team so that they return back with smiling face. Both appealed the people of the state to light up candle at all temples irrespective of religions and at the road side as a mark of encouragement to the MANPAC team.
