In a move aimed at enhancing administrative efficiency and promoting digital governance, the Government of Manipur is all set to introduce a digital Inner Line Permit (ILP) registration and issuance system at Imphal Airport, marking the first such initiative in the state.
The new system is designed to streamline the process of issuing ILPs for visitors entering the state, reducing time and ensuring ease of access. The digital ILP kiosk at the airport will enable travellers to complete the registration process in approximately three minutes.
Chief Secretary Prashant Kumar Singh, IAS, along with senior officials and the Director of Imphal Airport, recently conducted a site visit to review and assess the operational readiness of the digital kiosk. The team tested the system’s functionality and expressed satisfaction over its swift processing capability.
Officials informed that similar digital ILP kiosks will soon be installed at Jiribam and Mao entry points, further expanding the scope of this initiative.
The state government believes that the implementation of this digital system will not only simplify procedures for incoming travellers but also strengthen the regulatory framework governing entry into Manipur under the ILP regime.
